A NEW LEADER FOR SMUSD

Dear Neighbors,

As the proud parents of three San Marcos Unified Students, my husband and I experience our school district up close, every day. Our kids have been fortunate to have great teachers who truly care and found wonderful school communities over the past nine years.

However, it has become increasingly clear that our schools are facing significant and growing challenges. Despite our best efforts, we have not seen the proactive measures needed to address these issues effectively. This is why I became involved two years ago, and why I was honored to be elected to our school site council. Through this role, I have heard countless concerns from parents about various pressing issues, including vaping on campus, irresponsible usage of cell phones and technology, dress code, school safety, and student mental health.

These are not just isolated concerns; they are critical issues that impact our students' well-being and their ability to succeed. Addressing these challenges requires both common-sense and experienced leadership. This year, I am running for the school board with the commitment to bring this kind of leadership back to our district.

Together, we can get back to the basics and focus on what truly matters—creating an environment where our students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and the community to develop practical solutions and make meaningful progress.

I would be honored to have your support and your vote in this upcoming election. Let’s work together to make our schools the best they can be.
